Thiam & Associés is proud to have its managing partner Baba Hady Thiam awarded the prize of African Business Lawyer of the Year 2021 by the magazine Financial Afrik. This award culminates an impressive year with a broad range of cases, from major mining transactions to cross-border operations.
Among other projects, Baba Hady Thiam advised a pool of banks including the International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group), the Development Finance Corporation (formerly OPIC), Natixis London Branch, Société Générale London Branch, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, BNP Paribas, ING, in the context of a syndicated financing of USD 823 million in favour of the Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG). He also advised High Power Exploration (HPX) on the Mount Nimba iron ore project and Rio Tinto on the Simandou project.
